Orthopedic Surgery and Extensive Soft Tissue Surgery
Orthopedic Surgery and Extensive Soft Tissue Surgery
A variety of orthopedic procedures are available at our office, including the repair of Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) ruptures, fracture repair, and correction of Medial Patellar Luxation.
Our extensive soft tissue surgeries encompass procedures such as soft palate resection, which shortens the elongated soft palate to enhance the patient’s airway, thereby facilitating easier breathing. During the procedure, the palate’s length is assessed under anesthesia; if elongation is confirmed, resection is performed. Respiratory function is recorded via video to document any interference caused by the palate.

Local anesthesia is administered through a nerve block, similar to that used in dental procedures. Additionally, if enlarged laryngeal saccules are identified, these can be resected concurrently.
Moreover, it is common to perform a correction of stenotic (narrow) nares, which entails the removal of a pie-wedge shaped section of the nostril to reduce inhalation resistance.
Other extensive soft tissue surgeries may include tumor removal, hernia repair, and neutering in cases where testicles are retained within the abdominal cavity.
These procedures are coordinated with Dr. Gorostiza, our surgical expert, who visits our office as needed. This collaboration allows us to provide convenient care, with our team facilitating a swift surgical resolution. Following the procedures, we ensure seamless follow-up care for our patients.
