About Dr. Jean Burns

Dr. Burns is a Florida native who has lived in the South Florida area her entire life, with the exception of her collegiate studies. In 2004, Dr. Burns established Floresta Animal Hospital, where she currently serves as Medical Director. At Floresta, the team considers the hospital a second home and is dedicated to providing exceptional care for every patient. Dr. Burns and her compassionate staff are committed to ensuring that each animal receives the highest level of attention and devotion.

Dr. Burns possesses a profound passion for French Bulldogs, having bred and showcased these remarkable dogs for over two decades. Her extensive experience has provided her with in-depth knowledge of their unique characteristics and breed-specific traits. With the recent surge in popularity of French Bulldogs—now the most registered breed with the American Kennel Club (AKC)—an increasing number of pet owners seek tailored advice and solutions for the specific challenges associated with this breed.

It is important to recognize that French Bulldogs differ significantly from other breeds, such as Golden Retrievers, and come with their own set of challenges that require specialized expertise. With Dr. Burns’ background in caring for and understanding French Bulldogs, you can trust that your beloved pet will receive exceptional care. During your initial consultation, you can expect a thorough discussion to address all your questions and concerns. Our flat-faced companions require specific care guidelines to ensure their health and safety, and we are dedicated to providing the best support for both you and your Frenchie.

Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Burns resides in Parkland with her fiancé, Chris. Together, they lead an active lifestyle, caring for their cherished French Bulldogs and managing Chris’s plant nursery.
